Sunment is a mobile app for people to use their phone to photograph and share “sunments” or moments the sun creates in the parks.

Observation: I’ve always loved how life looks during the first hour after sunrise and the last hour before sunset. The sunlight during these golden hours warms everything and creates intimate moments. It becomes low enough to shine between the tree’s leaves, cast long shadows on the ground or water, and pour light through windows. My Sunments
Analysis: I began by analyzing my photos and keywords from my observation to create a name that builds a community around people who love sunlight moments. I narrowed the app’s purpose to encourage capturing these moments in parks. I also studied popular social media apps to understand intuitive features and navigation.

Design: The logotype uses a soft, rounded typeface that reflects the gentle warmth of golden hour.
I designed the logomark with a camera centered inside a sun to symbolize capturing golden hour moments. The twelve sun rays are shaped from the letter “i” in the typeface, creating a connection between the logomark and the logotype. They also represent the ability to share photos throughout the day.
I built the color palette by sampling from my own photos and increasing the saturation to create a bright, warm gradient that evokes the feeling of sunlight.
